I tasted the first air travel experience in my life when I was 15. Well so it was not hard for me to retain some of the interesting moments and incidences I came across during my flight.

I still remember it was a summer morning when my father brought home, three tickets to Hongkong to spend the vacations. Next was our day of departure and I didn’t sleep the previous night dreaming about the excitement and thrill of my first flying experience.

The next morning we arrived at the airport by 11 am and my father enquired about the flight. Luckily it was on time and we checked in. The whole process of luggage checking in and flight boarding was very refreshing and new for me to see. We then competed the routine check in procedure and passed through the different duty free shops there. Finally we boarded our flight and were greeted by well dressed air hostesses. One of them showed us our seats and I took the window seat. Gradually all the passengers occupied their respective seats and the airhostess started demonstrating the emergency procedures.

While she was instructing I felt the movement of the aircraft moving along the runway and my father told me that it was about to take off at a high speed. We quickly made a check on whether we have fastened our seat belts or not. The plane took off and I can actually visualize the clouds moving with us that signaled us that we were flying on a great height. I saw beautiful houses, ships, cars and landscapes growing small, tiny, and tinnier and gradually disappearing as we were airborne.

I can easily guess that it was just 15 minutes passed when we were instructed to unfasten our seat belts. The air hostess offered us drinks but I was completely carried away by the beauty if clouds which were the only thing I could see outside my window. In our 3 hours long flight, we were served delicious food when we had already covered half the way. The airhostess was quite polite and soft. I was enjoying every single moment of my travel and just wanted to take home the beautiful clouds outside.

I couldn’t realize how quick the rest of the journey passed and soon we were instructed to fasten our belts again. It was signaling that the plane is about to land and it gradually started descending. I felt a strong turbulence and I got little scared then my father told me that it was just a slight shake and I was convinced.

In just a few seconds I could again visualize the beautiful coastline of Hongkong which signaled about the end of my first air journey. We stepped out at the Kai Tak airport. In a nutshell my first air journey was filled with refreshment and excitement. I loved it!!!
